LATISSE® Eyelash Treatment

LATISSE® Eyelash Treatment img 1Not everyone is blessed with full, long and dark eyelashes. Some women feel that light or thin eyelashes can detract from the appearance of their eyes, while others might find mascara to be bothersome or irritating. LATISSE® is a revolutionary eyelash treatment that’s FDA-approved to help eyelashes grow longer, darker and thicker* so you never have to worry about applying mascara again.

Dr. Jennifer Harrington is a board-certified plastic surgeon who prioritizes staying up-to-date with the latest cosmetic innovations, including LATISSE®. During your initial consultation, she’ll explain exactly how this eyelash treatment stimulates lash growth* and the kinds of results you can expect if you choose to buy LATISSE®.

Harrington + Associates Plastic Surgery has helped women throughout the Twin Cities with LATISSE® eyelash treatments. We also serve people from surrounding towns like Minnetonka, St. Cloud, Sartell and Wayzata who are looking for excellent cosmetic care.

Who Is a Good Candidate for LATISSE®?

Most people who wish to have thicker and fuller eyelashes can be excellent candidates for LATISSE®.* Some of the most common reasons to think about getting LATISSE® include:*

  • Your eyelashes have thinned as a result of age or lifestyle changes
  • Your eyelashes were always thin to begin with
  • Blonde or light colored eyelashes create a “washed out” look
  • You are sensitive to mascara

How to Use LATISSE® Eyelash Treatment

LATISSE® is a product that you may purchase at our licensed medical spa. The purpose of LATISSE® is to create fuller, thicker and darker eyelashes so that you don’t need to wear mascara to have beautiful lashes.

LATISSE® generally comes in month-long supplies. The liquid product is applied to the base of your upper eyelashes every night using a sterile applicator. The applicator must be discarded after each use. The product naturally travels to the lower eyelashes when you blink. It’s important to not apply the product directly on the lower lashes, as this can result in a tendency to get into your eye. Before applying LATISSE®, your face should be clean with makeup and contact lenses removed.

Some people notice that their irises, the colored part of the eyes, become slightly darker in an instance of LATISSE® getting in the eye. This discoloration may not revert. However, most people experience no problems if a small amount of LATISSE® gets into the eyes.*

People may consider BOTOX® or even eyelid surgery to further enhance the eye area. LATISSE® can be an excellent complement to almost any med spa treatment.

Your LATISSE® Results

Although individual experiences vary, most people begin to see their results from LATISSE® after 2 months of daily use.* Maximum results typically develop by 3 or 4 months of daily use.* Most people experience about a 25 percent increase in the length of their eyelashes, almost 20 percent increase in eyelash darkness and over 100 percent increase in the thickness of their lashes.*

You may use mascara in addition to LATISSE®, although many women find that additional eye makeup is not necessary.

It’s important to discuss any potential risks or complications associated with LATISSE® eyelash treatment with Dr. Harrington or her staff prior to starting use of the product. People with certain eye problems, such as uveitis, may not be good candidates for eyelash treatment. If you experience any new vision problems, irritation or allergies, notify our office immediately.
