Preparing for your mommy makeover should be an exciting time. You are taking some time out of your busy schedule to do something nice for yourself that will hopefully help you live your best life.
Amid all of the excitement, however, it’s important to make sure your pre-mommy-makeover checklist is complete. Use these quick mommy makeover prep tips to help ensure you’ve got everything covered before the big day.
-
Don’t Smoke or Use Nicotine Products
Smoking and using other tobacco or nicotine products greatly increases the risk of complications during and after surgery. So follow your plastic surgeon’s guidelines about how far in advance to quit smoking—and don’t allow yourself any “cheat” days on this!
Don’t forget that many vape pens contain nicotine, so they’re a no-no as well.
-
Do Get a Pre-Operative Physical
If you currently use Chantix® or a similar prescription, let your plastic surgeon know in advance.
You’ll be asked to get a physical right before your mommy makeover, just to make sure you are healthy enough for your procedure. Even if you already had a physical at the start of your mommy makeover process and you feel that nothing has changed, you’ll still need to get an updated exam. This is for your health and safety, so don’t cut corners here.
-
Do Arrange for Help
After your mommy makeover, plan on taking around two weeks to rest and relax at home—without all of your normal daily duties. Enlist some help with childcare, pet care and household chores like grocery shopping, laundry and meal prep.
