EXOMIND for Mental Wellnessin Minneapolis
As part of our commitment to treating both mind and body at Harrington Plastic Surgery, we are excited to offer EXOMIND, an innovative treatment for mental wellness that uses repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (ExoTMS™) pulses to achieve a workout for your mind. The EXOMIND device generates these pules when it is placed directly above the scalp. The pulses stimulate or inhibit certain brain functions to address a range of mental health concerns without the use of additional medications.

The EXOMIND device uses magnetic pulses to alter brain activity for improved emotional and behavioral control. The treatment modality can enhance what is known as “neuroplasticity” or “neural connectivity” – essentially, the brain’s ability to reprogram itself and adapt to new stimuli.
Over a series of treatments, patients can achieve a happier and more balanced outlook, improved motivation and focus, greater ability to regulate their emotions, and other mental health benefits.

Your EXOMIND Treatment
To begin treatment, the EXOMIND device is positioned over the scalp. Your treatment provider at Harrington Plastic Surgery will program the device to target your specific concerns, and it will begin to emit invisible magnetic waves for specific brain regions. The device generates magnetic pulses to induce electrical currents in the brain, stimulating underactive brain regions.

During the treatment session, you will rest comfortably in the treatment room while the device works. The treatment takes about 30 minutes and does not require any prep or anesthesia. You’ll be able to carry on with your day’s activity immediately after treatment.
EXOMIND Recovery & Results
There is no recovery period, though you may temporarily feel scalp tingling or a slight headache following rTMS. In studies, 90% of participants reported improved mental wellbeing after a series of EXOMIND treatments. Results develop gradually as your brain begins to remodel itself in response to the targeted magnetic wave energy.
EXOMIND FAQs
Most patients find the treatment to be extremely comfortable, since it is completely noninvasive. You lie back and can catch up on your social media or work emails while treatment takes place. Some patients report mild tingling or headaches following treatment.
EXOMIND is not designed to be or meant as a replacement for other treatment modalities. Talk with your primary care or behavioral health provider before making any changes to your current treatments.
Mental health benefits are gradually achieved as the brain remodels itself during a treatment series. The number of treatments varies from individual to individual and based on the concerns you want to treat. We can schedule you for regular maintenance treatments to maintain your results.
EXOMIND is designed to treat people with depression and other mental wellness concerns. We can review all of your concerns during your initial consultation to let you know if EXOMIND is a good fit for you.
The total cost of your EXOMIND treatment will depend on how many treatments you need. We’ve priced this therapy to be highly competitive. Many of our patients say that they wish they knew about this treatment sooner and they feel the mental health benefits are well worth the treatment cost. We’ll provide a detailed cost quote at your consultation.
