Exion® vs. Morpheus8: Which Is Better?

Radiofrequency, or RF, microneedling is one of the most popular and effective nonsurgical skin rejuvenation treatments. This technology can address a wide range of skin concerns simultaneously, including fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, loose skin, acne scars, stretch marks and more.

There are now several RF microneedling devices available, with two of the most popular being Morpheus8 and Exion® Fractional RF. While these devices use similar radiofrequency technology to refresh the skin, there are quite a few notable differences between the two.

Exion offers more advanced features than Morpheus8, making it one of the most effective skin tightening and rejuvenating devices currently available. Here’s what stands out about Exion’s technology vs. Morpheus8.

AI-Driven Pulse Control

Exion uses an advanced AI-driven delivery system, allowing it to automatically adjust the radiofrequency output in real-time, based on your skin’s resistance. This increases the precision and evenness of the treatment, enhancing results and minimizing discomfort. Morpheus8, on the other hand, requires manual adjustments.

Ultrasound Technology

Exion combines radiofrequency energy with ultrasound technology to stimulate not only your skin’s collagen but also its hyaluronic acid production. While radiofrequency works by gently heating the targeted tissues to stimulate collagen, ultrasound energy uses vibration to create mechanical stress on the deeper layers of skin. This creates tiny “micro channels” within the skin, helping the radiofrequency energy penetrate more deeply without using longer needles or multiple passes over the skin.

Shorter Needles

Because of this dual-energy delivery system, Exion is able to use shorter needles than Morpheus8 while still providing excellent results. This increases comfort during Exion treatments and can lead to a shorter downtime than with Morpheus8 and other microneedling devices with longer needles.

Single-Pass Treatment

Exion’s combination of radiofrequency and ultrasound technologies also allows it to work as a single-pass treatment. This means that the Exion applicator only needs to pass over the same area on the skin once and does not require multiple passes to achieve the desired result. Morpheus8 and other traditional microneedling devices typically require multiple passes over the same area for optimal results.

This single-pass system makes Exion one of the most comfortable microneedling treatments and speeds up treatment and healing time.

More Applicators

Exion’s four unique applicators allow for greater treatment customization, depending on the size and location of the targeted treatment areas. This flexibility also makes it easier to treat multiple areas in a single session without compromising comfort or results.
