Your Feminine Rejuvenation Treatment
Your vaginal rejuvenation consultation and treatment will be performed Dr. Harrington along with her certified plastic surgery nurse or physician assistant. Viveve does not require local or general anesthesia, as the procedure itself should not be uncomfortable. You may feel a slight warming sensation during treatment. The Viveve device delivers controlled volumetric heating to safely stimulate vaginal tissue.* Your procedure should only last about 30 minutes, after which you may return to your normal routine.*
Depending on your anatomy and goals, Dr. Harrington may suggest additional or alternative treatments. Women struggling with oversized or uneven labia may be good candidates for labiaplasty. Those with noticeable fat pads over the pubic bone after weight changes or pregnancy may wish to include liposuction of the mons pubis. Many women choose to include vaginal tightening as part of their mommy makeover.
Viveve Downtime
Although individual experiences vary, most women begin to notice results around 30 days after your Viveve treatment.* Your results may continue to develop over about 3 months.* While many women only require a single Viveve treatment,* Dr. Harrington may recommend a second treatment for others. Dr. Harrington will assess your results after 90 days and help you determine whether another treatment is best.
In addition to rejuvenation of the vaginal muscles and tissue, you may notice improvements in lubrication, arousal, stress incontinence and sexual satisfaction.*
Although complications associated with Viveve are rare, it’s still important to discuss any potential risks with Dr. Harrington prior to your treatment. If you notice any sharp pain or sudden swelling, notify our office immediately.

Viveve FAQs
What Is Viveve Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Viveve is a non-surgical treatment for common vaginal issues, including urinary incontinence, dryness and vaginal laxity.* It is the non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedure of choice for our board-certified plastic surgeons.
How Does Viveve Vaginal Rejuvenation Work?
The Viveve treatment works by triggering collagen production in the body that helps to strengthen and thicken the tissues in the walls of the vagina. Radiofrequency technology delivers energy into targeted areas of the vagina. The treatment also includes a cooling component that ensures the procedure is comfortable. As a result of the thickened and strengthened vaginal tissue, the vagina feels tighter and conditions like urinary incontinence improve.*
Is Viveve Vaginal Rejuvenation Safe?
Yes. Viveve is a surgery-free treatment that uses only radiofrequency technology, so it is completely safe and virtually painless.*
What Are the Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation with Viveve?
The Viveve treatment itself offers many benefits to women. Viveve is non-surgical, there is no downtime or cutting and only one 30-minute treatment is needed for most patients. The treatment tightens the vagina, thereby improving urinary control and increasing sensation. You’ll experience the benefits of this procedure in your everyday life and in the bedroom.*
What Can I Expect during the Treatment?
The majority of women describe the treatment as painless or slightly uncomfortable. You’ll likely experience a heating or cooling sensation during treatment, which lasts approximately 30 minutes and requires no downtime. In most cases, there are no side effects and women find that they can return to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment.*
When Will I Feel Results?
The majority of women begin to notice results within the first few weeks of treatment. You will continue noticing changes as the collagen production in your body continues to improve over time. Viveve treatments have shown improved sensitivity, tightness and incontinence within 6 to 9 weeks.*
