4 Tips for Being Active after Breast Augmentation

breast augmentation restrictions

breast augmentation restrictionsGetting up and moving after your breast augmentation can have its benefits, but you do need to make sure you’re not overdoing it.

These four tips should give you a better idea of what kind of exercise restrictions you’re looking at after breast augmentation and how to ease your body back into your workout routine.

  1. Give Yourself Some “Off” Days

For the first few days after plastic surgery, just focus on resting and relaxing while your body recuperates. As you start to feel up to it, you can walk around the house to keep your blood flowing and help with swelling, but don’t do much more than that.

  2. Ease into Exercise

Once your plastic surgeon gives you the green light to start upping your exercise after breast enhancement, start slowly. Try a short, light walk around the block and then see how you feel. Maybe you can go a little farther the next day. Bear in mind that you’ll still need to avoid heavy lifting and very strenuous exercises for 4 to 6 weeks. Most women feel up to returning back to work within 7 to 10 days after getting breast implants.

  3. Listen to Your Body

Every woman is going to recover at her own pace, so don’t ignore the signs your body is trying to give you. If you feel sore, uncomfortable or in pain while performing a certain exercise or movement, take a step back and let your body rest before trying again.

  4. Listen to Your Doctor

When in doubt, ask your plastic surgeon when it’s okay to start increasing the duration and intensity of your workouts. Doing too much too soon could put you at risk for complications and hinder your breast augmentation results. It’s always a good idea to ask all your breast augmentation questions before surgery and keep in touch with your doctor as new questions come up while you recover.
